I frequently ride in the dark...so I wear a reflective vest, my bike has reflective tape all over it, wheel reflectors and the usual front and back reflectors. For lights I have two on my helmet, tiny strap on L.E.D. strobe lights, one red one white, a big red strobe on the back of the bike, a bright L.E.D. on the front. I can see well and more importantly I can be seen. I got all my lights etc...at Mountain Equipment Coop. I don't know if you all have that store in your area but they are really good for biking accessories.

I work third shift,11 PM-7AM.
I roll with a Magicshine 900 lumen headlight, a Down Low Glow, a Planet Bike Superflash and 2 generic 5 led blinkies on the bike. I also wear a lighted reflective vest, reflective leg bands and a helmet mounted led light.
